Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his debts and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Viewers can look forward to discovering which characters will be where in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
