The artist has given the complete sum of his £25,000 honor winnings to the trust for venues, which operates to protect the United Kingdom's grassroots concert spaces.

Fender was given the award on October 16 as his latest record his work was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.

Fender has chosen to hand the money over to the trust, in recognition of the essential function local spots fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I personally would not have achieved this success if it wasn't for all the performances I played around the area, and beyond, when I was starting out," stated the artist. "These spaces are renowned, but they are facing challenges."

Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these locations have permanently closed – approximately one-sixth of the entire UK sector.

Over the past year, top acts like Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its initiatives to help venues survive, by including a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which goes to help smaller concert halls.

He also participated, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his 2024 arena tour to support numerous grassroots venues across Britain.

These funds assisted spaces that were facing imminent closure due to challenges stemming from flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Additional spaces obtained monetary aid in upgrading amenities and gear that directly benefitted artists and audiences.

"The notion that money from concerts in large arenas backs the smaller venues, where it begins for performers like me, is just sensible," the star has stated.

He is far from the only musician to donate his award funds to good deeds.

When they won the trophy in the mid-90s for their release Different Class, frontman Jarvis Cocker stated that the act would donate their prize money to the non-profit War Child.

During 2002, musician Ms Dynamite split her prize across a few organizations, such as the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

"I also gave a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was younger and they required new equipment," she explained to outlets.

Two years ago, the band gave their prize money to the community center that nurtured their group, in addition to other local music groups.

Also the 1994 recipients the group gave their prize to a charity for MS after a acquaintance was identified with the illness.

"Winning was ample," stated singer Heather Small. "The money was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the honor. So our victory impacted somebody else's life."

Recently, the trust revealed it had rescued several grassroots venues in that region, by placing them under community ownership.

The first in Southampton and the other in that location were bought under the Own Our Venues scheme, which is funded by a national body and music fans who buy "stakes" in the buildings.
